PaperGrep collects minimal data to operate:
- Email addresses - Only if you subscribe to our newsletter "Papers in Production"
- Account information - If you sign in to bookmark papers, we collect your email address and authentication data via Clerk
- Bookmarked papers - We store which papers you've bookmarked (associated with your user ID)
- Anonymous analytics - Page views via Plausible Analytics (privacy-friendly, no cookies, no personal data)
How We Use Your Data
- Newsletter emails are used solely to send you monthly updates about new papers and repositories
- Account emails are used to identify you when you sign in and to associate your bookmarks with your account
- Bookmarked papers are stored to show you your saved papers list and persist across sessions
- Analytics data helps us understand which papers and features are most popular
- We never sell or share your data with third parties (except service providers listed below)

- Clerk - Our authentication provider that handles sign-in, user accounts, and identity verification. See Clerk's Privacy Policy

- Plausible Analytics - Privacy-focused analytics that doesn't track individuals or use cookies
Your Rights
- Unsubscribe from newsletter anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email
- Delete your account using Clerk's account management interface (removes all your bookmarks and account data)
- Delete your data by emailing us at [email protected]
- Access your data by emailing us at [email protected]
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access:
- Authentication is handled by Clerk, which uses industry-standard security practices
- Bookmarks are stored in our database with access controls to ensure only you can view and modify your saved papers
- Newsletter subscriptions are managed by Substack, which maintains industry-standard security practices
- We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
